I bought these earrings at Weekend Fever. I like the sense of placing some hidden details through intersting accessories, and the miniature world has always been so captivating. They also remind me of a picture I took when I last visited Treasure Hill Artist Village near my school.
去逛週末狂潮市集時買的兩支耳環，我很喜歡這種能透露細節的小東西，一想到別人可能會在談話間不經意的發現這些微小的用心跟幽默，就覺得滿開心，當然這種情結大多時候自爽成分居多。賣耳環的攤販是個女孩，小小的木盒上放了許多的小小人物，這種微型的世界真的很吸引我。想到上次去寶藏巖時拍的一張照片。
I went to Weekend Fever this afternoon along with Gary and Margaret, and met Micki and some friends of hers. The weather hasn’t been too good recently, and due to the rain, there weren’t many vendors and all of them gathered beneath the roof, which made the market much more crowded than ever. We didn’t stay there for too long. Still some cool people though. Gary helped taking some photos today. We didn’t shoot a lot but I think some of them somehow represent the different types of people visiting Weekend Fever.
今天下午去了週末狂潮市集，但天候不佳，攤販數量明顯減少，而且都聚集在遮雨棚下，再加上動線似乎有點問題，所以人潮相當擁擠而且不時出現停滯的狀況。在那兒沒有待很久，但還是買了一件墨綠色長版外套哈哈哈。今天單眼給我哥拿，沒有拍很多照片，但覺得似乎多少可以代表去趕集(?)人們的不同面向。
The second visit to Weekend Fever, this time with not only Gary but one of my best friends. The whole thing was still interesting and inspiring, and it was really nice to meet again some of the people we met and became friends with. However, I realized that unlike last time, this time, before asking people if I could take a picture of them, I started to think twice and look deeper into how they got themselves dressed. I think I’m trying to be more observative in noticing the details and the personal styles involved in every single look, which I think is a good practice. The only pity was that my camera became out of power before I took all the pictures I would love to take :(
These photos were taken when I went to the Weekend Fever Theme Market with Gary last month. It was my first experience of doing this kind of street snapping thing, which was quite interesting and inspiring. I really enjoyed doing so and would like to keep it on, which is also one of the main reasons I decided to get back here:)
My brother, Gary and I went to Weekend Fever on 2/18. Weekend Fever is an organization which is dedicated to promote fashion, independant brands, arts, and even charity, environmental protection, etc. The organization is devoted to hold different events, including the compound market( W.F.C.M.), the charity bazaar( W.F.C.B.), the theme market( W.F.T.M), and the WEEKEND STUNNER( W.S.), which is a singing competition. However, according to their facebook fan page, since the organization was founded, only the compound market and the theme market have been held. The other two are yet to come. Probably, I guess, they’re still waiting for more fund and reputation. As for the market, based on my experience, it really worth participating. Stepping into the Shimen Movie Park, one can really feel the change of atmosphere immediately. It was a sense of vividness and youth. Young people, maybe not so seriously trying to make the world different, however at least, try to make the world look better, and feel nicer. Here, I don’t mean “good” by any world-wide famous brand or some mix-and-match rules, but the attitude. Anyway, the Weekend Fever events have been, and probably will still be, held monthly. Each month they’ve got a specific theme as the dress code, not acquired for attending though. The next one will fall on 3/10,11, and I heard that the theme will be “black.” Kinda easy to prepare, eh?
